Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "The Gen Z Stare: Why Young Workers Don't Smile" that you kindly selected on 30 Sep. 2025.
I agree with the idea that working or studying from home too much might cause a decrease in facial expression, especially among younger generations.
Meanwhile, there are some people who rarely express their emotions. I assume the reason is because of their individual characteristics.
However, schools and companies should teach the importance of reciprocal facial expression, such as smiling, to help people communicate better.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "What is 'Job Hugging' and Is It Bad for Business?" that you kindly selected on 25 Sep. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, "Job Hugging" is a mindset among senior Japanese employees.
In the past, the employees were hired by permanent employment system that is based on traditional Japanese compnaies.
However, the company's policy has been getting obsolete recently.
I suppose today's young workers would not like to follow the "job hugging" trend.
I'm against the idea, because I believe that lazy employees and low performers will be attributed to "job hopping."
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Tokyo Ranked Best City in the World for a 'Workation'" that you kindly selected on 12 Sep. 2025.
I was honored as one of Tokyo's citizens to be chosen for the best workation city in the world.
However, the cost of living is quite high, so I suspect that Tokyo is not worth it if you live there permanently.
As I mentioned in the lesson, our company provides Wokation to employees, but they reduced the number of working from home.
For that reason, I won't use the Workation.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable, tactful conversation, as always on 29 Aug. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan encourages people over 40 years old to get regular eye exams, especially glaucoma screenings.
My eyes have not developed glaucoma symptoms, but I take eyedrops to reduce ocular pressure to prevent glaucoma.
In general, people who have miopia are more likely to have other eye problems, not only glaucoma but retinal detachment, macular degeneration, etc.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Moving to a Walkable City Better for Health" that you kindly selected on 27 Aug. 2025.
There is a thesis that indicates living in an urban area is healthier than living in a rural area.
The reason is that living in a rural area requires having a vehicle, so there are fewer opportunities to walk.
Meanwhile, urban area, such as Tokyo metropolitan area has advanced public transporation systems, so residents are less likely to own vehicles. Consequently, the step count is higher in urban areas than in rural areas.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "1,000 New 7-Eleven Stores Coming to Japan" that you kindly selected on 19 Aug. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I don't like the convenience store giant 7-Eleven for the following reasons:
1) Small portion size in its lunch box despite high price
The 7-Eleven lunch box uses a bumpy plastic design to hide its small capacity.
2) Exploitative franchise system
The 7-Eleven owners are likely to owe debts under the franchise system, including not only royalty fees but also additional expenses.
e.g., Unsold lunch boxes must be disposed of by the owner at their expense.
3) Dominant shop opening scheme
The 7-Eleven stores open in a certain area, for example, with new ones opening just 100–200 meters from each other.
Therefore, although the parent company can expect more profit, the profits of each 7-Eleven owner must be divided.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "'Free-Range Parenting' — Is It Good for Kids?" that you kindly selected on 12 Aug. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I'm partially in agreement with the method of Free-Range Parenting.
In my opinion, free-range parenting is valid for younger children under 10 years old.
Once children reach the age of 10, parents should adopt ordinary and conventional methods for their children.
In some cases, disciplinary parenting may be appropriate.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Only One Country Produces Enough Food for Itself" that you kindly selected on 8 Aug. 2025.
It was not until I read the article that I first learned that Guyana is the only country to meet 100% self-sufficient.
Meanwhile, Japan's self-sufficiency rate has been quite low. If Japan is banned from importing food, our daily dishes would be very poor.
Based on Japan's history, Japan adopted a policy of national isolation during the Edo period. During this time, they achieved almost 100% self-sufficiency.
It would be possible to achieve 100% self-sufficiency even now, but I agree with the idea of increasing self-sufficiency.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Homework to Housework: How British Attitudes Have Changed" that you kindly selected on 30 July 2025.
The attitudes of the UK and Japan have changed over the past few decades. I suppose this change is similar to that in Japan.
The education and role of women have drastically improved.
Meanwhile, some critics still complain that certain roles, such as executives, politicians, and professors, are occupied by men.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.
