Thank you so much, Sarah.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, completing sentences with my own ideas and based on the material 'Small Luxuries Add to Growing Financial Stress' that you kindly selected for me on 24 May 2026.
I recommend that people live within their means because hedonic adaptation is inevitable.
Some individuals, such as celebrities, tend to live a life of luxury.
However, if they lose their status, they often immediately fall into debt because hedonic adaptation makes it extremely difficult for them to lower their standard of living.
Of course, it is easier for ordinary people to downgrade their lifestyle than it is for the wealthy, but we should still avoid excessive luxuries for this very reason.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Sarah.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, exercises on idioms and phrasal verbs, based on the material 'Anthropic Explains Why Claude Showed “Self-Preservation” Behavior' that you kindly selected for me on 20 May 2026.
"It was an interesting topic, reminiscent of a science fiction film about AI's threat to humanity.
In reality, AI relies entirely on accumulated information, known as 'big data'.
Because of this, it is difficult for AI to truly invent or create something new from scratch.
Therefore, I do not expect AI to become a real threat to humans."
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Sarah.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material "Alone but Not Lonely: Study Links Solitude to Intelligence" that you kindly selected for me on 19 May 2026.
It is natural that highly intelligent people tend to prefer solitude over being surrounded by many people, because they think differently from others.
Meanwhile, enjoying time alone has become widely accepted among Japanese people today, as exemplified by solo Yakiniku, solo Ramen, and solo Karaoke. In the past, most people in Japan hesitated to spend time alone.
However, in modern Japanese society, solitude is rapidly becoming universally accepted.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Sarah.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Politics Divides More American Relationships' that you kindly selected for me on 17 May 2026.
Today, the number of Japanese people who are interested in policies, politicians, and politics is increasing because voter turnout in recent elections has also been increasing.
Meanwhile, most Japanese people are more indifferent to politics than people in other countries.
Therefore, political topics do not always damage relationships, such as friendships, family ties, and romantic relationships.
However, most Japanese people recognize that politics, religion, and specific sports teams should not be topics of daily conversation.
In addition, one's educational background is becoming a sensitive topic among Japanese people because attaining a higher education unfairly depends on a household's financial condition—in other words, the 'parent lottery'.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Sarah.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, exercises on idioms and phrasal verbs, based on the material 'Freelancers Face Growing Pressure' that you kindly selected for me on 16 May 2026.
The following is a summary of the exercises.
1. burst out -ing: Suddenly start doing...
2. cringe: (When I see myself or others doing something embarrassing) I'm totally grossed out
3. felt gutted: I was terribly disappointed and devastated.
4. clammed up: (Due to nervousness or fear) to clam up
5. be thrilled to bits: So excited and overjoyed
6. made a fool of myself: (Do something stupid) and end up embarrassing yourself
I wouldn't recommend becoming a freelancer because they also have to handle accounting tasks and find new clients. Consequently, a freelancer cannot focus on their core work.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Sarah.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Global Press Freedom Reaches Lowest Point in 25 Years' that you kindly selected for me on 10 May 2026.
I forgot to tell you about another problem with the Japanese media.
As I mentioned in the lesson, Japan's press freedom ranking is somewhere in the middle globally.
However, I suppose that the number of media outlets that choose not to report certain news is higher than you might think.
Most Japanese media outlets do not dare to report news that is inconvenient for certain institutions.
This behavior is completely unfair.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.
