Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Can Japan Save Its Food Supply From Serious Future Risks?' that you kindly selected for me on 16 Feb. 2026.
As I mentioned in the lesson, the agricultural industry has had a negative image among Japanese people for many years.
For instance, there is a perception that farmers have to live in rural areas and endure heavy workloads despite low incomes.
To improve the image of the agricultural industry, I recommend asking social media influencers to help promote it.
The most suitable candidate would be HIKAKIN, who is the most famous YouTuber in Japan, as he is very popular among children.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Mount Fuji Festival Ends as Overtourism Overwhelms a City' that you kindly selected for me on 14 Feb. 2026.
As I mentioned in the lesson, the mayor's decision was quite decisive.
Of course, those in the tourism industry may have many complaints.
Meanwhile, local residents were relieved to be free from the unpleasant atmosphere in their town.
It is not easy to strike a balance between gaining revenue and protecting citizens from disruption to daily life.
The final decision depends on the city's financial status. If the city is struggling with its budget, the mayor should prioritize tourism.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Trees, Not Grass, Linked to Heart Health' that you kindly selected for me on 13 Feb. 2026.
I'm currently living in an ideal area in suburban Tokyo, where there is a small forest and a tiny river.
To be honest, I don't feel like this environment is effective in preventing heart disease.
I knew the trees are effective at refreshing the air. They must be beneficial for the lungs.
In addition, I found that the caffeine in coffee can help prevent heart disease.
I believe these factors can extend our healthy life expectancy.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Anne.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Cities Face Rapid Changes and New Pressures in 2026' that you kindly selected for me on 11 Feb. 2026.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I expect that it will take a long time for flying cars to become a reality.
This is because current laws and regulations do not yet cover them.
I assume that flying cars would eventually be categorized as aircraft.
Ordinary people cannot drive a flying car with a current driver's license.
For that reason, flying cars will not become prevalent until the laws are amended.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Looking After Grandchildren May Boost Brain Health' that you kindly selected for me on 7 Feb. 2026.
I agree with the idea that looking after grandchildren boosts grandparents' brain health.
Meanwhile, many parents in urban areas are less likely to be dependent on their parents.
On the other hand, many parents in rural areas are more likely to be dependent on them.
To be honest, I don't like to be interfered with by either of my parents, because I'd like to pursue my own path based on my experience and knowledge.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Why Must Students Join in Shaping Education Now?" that you kindly selected on 2 Feb. 2026.
Nowadays, inquiry-based and group-oriented teaching formats are gaining popularity within the Japanese education system.
Meanwhile, average scores on paper-based exams are declining among Japanese students.
Some experts point out that the root cause can be attributed to these new teaching formats.
For that reason, I am against these new formats and support conventional teaching methods.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "How Traffic Noise Can Harm Your Mental Health" that you kindly selected on 31 Jan. 2026.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I used to live in an apartment quite close to a station.
The apartment is also facing a road where there are vehicles running.
At first, I bought a thick curtain with a soundproof lining, because I could not sleep well due to the noise. However, I got completely used to the noisy environment.
Some people are resilient to such a noisy environment.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Get Ready for Robots in Your Home by 2027" that you kindly selected on 29 Jan. 2026.
As I mentioned in the lesson, robots won't prevail in Japan for the following reasons.
- Traditional Japanese houses tend to be narrow and small. The robot would not be able to perform at its best.
- Most Japanese houses are two-storey buildings. The robot must find it difficult to go up and down the stairs.
- The initial cost of the robots, as well as their maintenance, would be exorbitant. Only wealthy people can buy them.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Japan Climate Report Calls for Urgent Action" that you kindly selected on 28 Jan. 2026.
As the article mentioned, Japan has already been facing some issues caused by climate change.
For instance, there are localised heavy rains in Japan that are known as "linear precipitation bands".
In addition, a landslide occurred as a collateral disaster caused by the rain.
Of course, many crops have been affected by the change.
The problem would remain unresolved unless epoch-making technologies to improve the current climate were invented.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "'How Can Brazil's Oldest People Help Us Stay Healthy Longer?" that you kindly selected on 26 Jan. 2026.
There are several reasons for longevity, such as environmental and genetic factors.
As I mentioned in the lesson, there is a 111-year-old male supercentenarian living in Japan.
Despite his age, he seems to have no dementia, because he is clearly able to communicate with others.
He said that the key to living longer is to avoid stress, but he does not know of any other reasons.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "How Can Convenience Stores Survive in a Crowded Market?" that you kindly selected on 21 Jan. 2026.
In the past, Seven-Eleven, the convenience store giant in Japan provides attractive products.
However, today, I would not like to purchase products even for the following reasons.
Let me take an example of a lunch box.
- Despite the small portion, the price is quite expensive.
- That lunch box is be ready with a bumped plastic container to make it look like it contains a sufficient amount.
- The actual taste is not so good although there are a lot of assertive comments online.
For that reason, I would like to use other convenience stores, such as FamilyMart and Lawson.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "How to Have a Better Working Day" that you kindly selected on 20 Jan. 2026.
The article suggested six tips for spending the working day comfortably, but I have some more.
1) Taking short nap during lunch time.
Taking a short nap between 20 - 30 min would be as effective as taking a 2-3 hour nap. This approach can help you catch up on your sleep.
2) Skip breakfast
I recommend that middle-aged men and women dare not have breakfast because having three meals a day would exceed their total daily calorie intake.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Cities Compete to Be Japan's Second Capital" that you kindly selected on 19 Jan. 2026.
I agree that Osaka is the most likely candidate for a second capital city so far.
Meanwhile, there have been some cases of failed capital transfers in other countries, such as South Korea, Myanmar, Malaysia and Brazil.
The Japanese government should consider effective ways to replace the plan.
Of course, there is also the option of not transferring the current capital with the insufficient budget in Japan.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Doctors Share Secrets for a Longer, Healthier Life" that you kindly selected on 17 Jan. 2026.
Deciding on a New Year's resolution is a good idea in general. I recommend that we set the resolutions as feasible goals for the same reason described in this article.
Actually, I'd like to make a resolution this year related to my physical health.
1) Walk more than 30,000 steps per week.
2) Be careful to catch a cold no more than 3 times a year.
3) Donate blood at least 3 times a year.
These objectives are achievable and would be highly beneficial in extending our longevity.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Why Learning to Say 'No' at Work Matters" that you kindly selected on 16 Jan. 2026.
Most ordinary colleagues in Japan hesitate to say 'No', but I believe the ability to do so is crucial during working.
'No' is a harsh word to use when rejecting something, so it can be considered impolite in a Japanese office.
It requires the use of soft words to gently decline, and this is something you should learn through actual work experience.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Want a Better Life? Try Doing Less" that you kindly selected on 15 Jan. 2026.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I take certain supplements every day that have been scientifically proven to be effective to a certain degree, such as omega-3 acids and lutein, etc.
For that reason, I would not like to do less than my usual routine.
Meanwhile, I'd like to add some additional activities, such as walking, jogging, to my routine after reaching retirement age to stay healthy for as long as possible.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "What Makes Some People So Competitive?" that you kindly selected on 14 Jan. 2026.
As the article pointed out, Japanese people, especially Gen Z, tend to avoid standing out too much and often prioritise harmony and peace.
However, I suppose that companies require competitive workers, because competitive people in Japan have advantages, such as being promoted faster than others and being nominated as a leader or manager, etc.
Clarifying such advantages is a good method to perusuade peoeple to be more competative.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Feeling Low This Winter? These Tips Can Help" that you kindly selected on 13 Jan. 2026.
Many people in Japan are likely to feel blue in the winter mornings due to the darkness and cold temperatures.
According to the article, there are some effective tips to help you overcome the winter blues.
However, most people, including me, want to sleep even just one minute longer, so they are reluctant to excuse the methods.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Why Are More Fathers Staying Home to Care for Families?" that you kindly selected on 12 Jan. 2026.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I did not have any childcare or paternity leave. If I took such leave, my salary would be reduced by 20-30%.
Only large or well-known Japanese companies can fully afford to provide such benefits to their employees. Meanwhile, middle or small sized companies cannot afford to do it even though the Japanese government encourages them to provide the leave.
As a result, economic disparities are widening in Japan as well.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on "Japan’s 2026 Fire Horse Superstition and Gender Predictions" that you kindly selected on 10 Jan. 2026.
Despite the advances in science and technologyies many Japanese people still believe in the superstition. So, I assume that the birth rate in Japan in 2026 will be lower than in previous years due to it.
As I mentioned in the lesson, there is a unique superstition related to 'Girls day' and 'Hina dolls' in Japan. The Girls day is a festival that is celebrated every year on the 3rd day of the 3rd month.
If the dolls are not withdrawn within a certain period, one week of Girls' Day, the daughter won't marry and will have difficulty finding a husband.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the "Why Do Parents Feel Lonely When Children Grow Up?" that you kindly selected on 9 Jan. 2026.
I forgot to tell you about the 'Parasite Single' which has a negative impact.
Japanese people generally think that children should leave their parents' home before they reach around 30 years of age or get married.
Of course, there are some advantages to living with your parents, such as saving money.
I wonder which is better for parents, feeling lonely or having parasite singles, but I believe that children should be independent of their parents.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.
