Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material '98% of Japan's Graduates Find Jobs' that you kindly selected for me on 30 May 2026.
Regarding the current job market, most college students are eager to work for large, well-known Japanese companies because the salaries and benefits are much better than those of small or medium-sized companies.
However, the actual employment rate for these top firms must be much lower than the widely reported 98%, as there is fierce competition to work for such large companies.
The more prestigious the university you graduate from, the higher your chances of working for a large, well-known company.
For this reason, many parents are highly invested in their children's education, although this situation has been gradually improving toward a fairer system.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Japan May Offer Energy Subsidies This Summer' that you kindly selected for me on 28 May 2026.
I appreciate the energy subsidies for the upcoming summer.
However, the amount of the subsidies will be insufficient because the expected increase in electricity bills will far exceed them.
I will purchase an electric fan to increase the efficiency of my air conditioner by circulating cold air around the room. This method could potentially reduce my electricity bill.
I expect the conflict between Iran and the U.S. to end before the stockpiled oil runs out.
However, it will take a lot of time for the oil market to completely recover, contrary to what many people believed in the past.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Japanese Students Say Hair Rules Are Too Strict' that you kindly selected for me on 27 May 2026.
The article reminded me of my childhood many years ago, which I spent under ridiculous school rules.
As exemplified by mandatory 'buzz cuts' for male students and 'bowl cuts' for female students, there were absurd school rules when I was a student in a rural area in Japan.
The reason for enforcing these nerdy hairstyles was the statistical belief that students with such hair would not become juvenile delinquents.
These school rules are obsolete nowadays, but unfortunately, they have not disappeared yet.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'People Often Follow Strangers in Crowds — Studyy' that you kindly selected for me on 23 May 2026.
The article reminded me of a hidden-camera TV show that was broadcast many years ago.
The show monitored people's behavior in various circumstances involving unexpected events.
The episode I watched tested how people would behave in a theater if a fire suddenly broke out.
At first, a theater staff member kindly explained to the audience how to evacuate.
Then, the show intentionally sounded a fire alarm, and some actors didn't follow the instructions, running away in the wrong direction.
As a result, the rest of the audience did not follow the official guidance, but mistakenly followed the actors.
Thus, the fact that people often follow strangers in crowds was proven.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'How Cleaning and Tidying Can Bring Peace of Mindy' that you kindly selected for me on 22 May 2026.
Needless to say, sweeping, vacuuming, and clearing away clutter can also clear your mind and make you feel comfortable.
No one would disagree with this idea. This fact has been psychologically and scientifically proven.
However, there is a famous story about a man who loved model trains.
One day, his wife threw them away without his permission.
Consequently, he became severely depressed and fell into a state of complete apathy.
Therefore, obsessive or forced tidying up may actually cause depression, especially when it involves someone else's belongings.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, exercises on idioms and phrasal verbs, based on the material 'More Americans Report 'Political Breakups'' that you kindly selected for me on 18 May 2026.
Today, the number of Japanese people who are interested in policies, politicians, and politics is increasing because voter turnout in recent elections has also been increasing.
Meanwhile, most Japanese people are more indifferent to politics than people in other countries.
Therefore, political topics do not always damage relationships, such as friendships, family ties, and romantic relationships.
However, most Japanese people recognize that politics, religion, and specific sports teams should not be topics of daily conversation.
In addition, one's educational background is becoming a sensitive topic among Japanese people because attaining a higher education unfairly depends on a household's financial condition - in other words, the 'parent lottery'.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.
