Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'World's Oldest Man Celebrates Remarkable Milestone in Brazil’ that you kindly selected for me on 11 July 2026.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I would like to live to be a centenarian, as long as I do not suffer from serious diseases or become bedridden.
Today, many Japanese centenarians lead simple lifestyles in their later years.
A traditional Japanese diet is one thing they have in common.
Additionally, they maintain a daily routine, which includes eating meals at set times, going for walks, and watching certain TV programs.
I believe that these habits are one of the reasons why they live longer than the average person.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Tokyo Named World's Most Livable City' that you kindly selected for me on 10 July 2026.
I was slightly surprised by the results of the 'World's Most Livable City' ranking because Tokyo took the top spot.
It seems the ranking did not fully take into account some of Tokyo's negative factors, such as the high cost of living, the uncomfortable density of buildings, and the somewhat closed nature of its society.
Nevertheless, I have lived in Tokyo for more than half of my life, as the advantages of living here clearly outweigh the disadvantages.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Are Annual Performance Reviews a Waste of Time?’ that you kindly selected for me on 9 July 2026.
I agree that annual performance reviews are a waste of time unless regular one-on-one meetings are held.
Our company encourages managers to hold in-person one-on-ones with their team members, because these meetings are a good opportunity to resolve any problems they might be facing.
However, if a review is only held annually, it becomes somewhat worthless, as it serves just to inform them of their annual performance, merit increases, and bonuses, rather than to actually resolve problems.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Fast Replies Boost Hiring Rates for Freelancers’ that you kindly selected for me on 7 July 2026.
I disagree with the opinion that fast replies directly increase hiring rates for freelancers.
Highly competent and popular freelancers cannot always send prompt replies because they are generally busier with their tasks than average freelancers.
However, it is true that a quick response makes a good impression on clients.
Therefore, I recommend that freelancers send a quick acknowledgment, with something like, 'Thank you for your email. I will get back to you later.'
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

You always teach in a very clear and kind way.
I really appreciate that you correct my mistakes and try to understand what I want to say in English by asking, “Is this what you mean?”
I am especially happy about this.
In our free conversation,
I always have fun talking about many different topics, and your advice about daily life has helped me a lot, not only with learning English.
I am already looking forward to our next lesson.
Thank you always for your support. |

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'How Online Games Can Help Kids Learn English' that you kindly selected for me on 6 July 2026.
I agree with the theory, but only if the ratio between playing the game and using English is balanced, such as 50-50.
If the amount of time spent using English is much smaller than the time spent simply playing, this method will be less effective than we might expect.
In addition, the genre of the video game is crucial.
First-person shooter games, for example, are not very effective from an educational point of view.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Japanese Workers Don't Want to Relocate — Survey' that you kindly selected for me on 4 July 2026.
It is quite natural for young employees who were born and raised in urban areas to refuse relocation, such as being transferred to rural areas.
Of course, relocation is a necessary policy for large Japanese companies to improve their profits from a human resources perspective. I recommend that companies offer attractive incentives to persuade employees to accept relocation requests.
According to one of my university classmates, a typical traditional Japanese company, offers its employees a guaranteed promotion if they accept a relocation.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Japanese Toilet Maker Invests Heavily in Future Chips’ that you kindly selected for me on 3 July 2026.
As I mentioned in the lesson, the article reminded me of a traditional Japanese company that succeeded in changing its corporate policy.
This is well exemplified by Fujifilm.
It used to produce photographic films, but these products are almost completely obsolete today due to the widespread use of digital cameras and smartphones.
Therefore, the company was determined to change its strategy, shifting its main products from film to chemical products, such as cosmetics.
Thus, a company must not stick to a single, specific product.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Seoul to Offer Free Bus Rides for the Elderly’ that you kindly selected for me on 1 July 2026.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government provides subsidies for public transportation not only to senior citizens but also to people with disabilities.
In certain rural areas, some municipalities even offer completely free public transportation.
However, these subsidies can put a strain on municipal budgets.
It is crucial to strike a balance between revenue and expenditure.
I suppose the government also offers subsidies to address the declining birth rate issue.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'French Government Discourages Air Conditioning During Heat Waves’ that you kindly selected for me on 30 June 2026.
It was not until I read the article that I learned about the French government's policy regarding summer heat waves.
In general, the role of a government is to protect its citizens from harm.
Therefore, it's unbelievable that the French government is recommending against the use of air conditioners.
I highly recommend that the government base its policies on science and public health.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material '40% of Older Japanese Adults Want to Work’ that you kindly selected for me on 27 June 2026.
The reasons why 40% of older Japanese adults continue to work are well described in the article.
I completely agree with these reasons, and I would like to continue working even after I reach 60 years of age.
However, senior employees have to renew their contracts every few months or up to a maximum of 1 year to extend their employment.
There is a possibility that they will not be able to extend their contracts unless their performance is exceptional.
For this reason, I need to consider alternative work options by the time I turn 60.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'The Skills People Still Perform Better than AI’ that you kindly selected for me on 26 June 2026.
About 10 years ago, there were predictions about what kind of jobs AI technology would replace, such as cab drivers, customer service representatives, and data entry operators.
However, it turned out that these predictions were wrong, because most of these jobs still exist even now.
Professions like nurses, dentists, and surgeons will not be replaced by AI.
Ultimately, while the combination of AI and robots may replace most human jobs, I believe it will take more than 1,000 years.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Granting Final Wishes to Seniors at Living Facilities’ that you kindly selected for me on 25 June 2026.
I agree with the idea that elderly people should set objectives and strive to achieve them, and I believe this is an important part of staying active and engaged in life.
However, only those who took care of themselves when they were young are truly able to participate in such activities.
This means that the habits formed in our youth are crucial to the later stages of our lives.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Tech Reviewer Loses Seventy Thousand Pounds in Sudden Phone Scam’ that you kindly selected for me on 22 June 2026.
As exemplified by the fact that even a tech reviewer was deceived, scams have become more common and elaborate nowadays.
Of course, there are countermeasures that ordinary people can take to avoid being deceived.
However, if people are panicked, they can easily be deceived by scams.
Therefore, staying calm is also a crucial factor in defending against them.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |

It was an enjoyable and insightful class as always, based on the material 'Workers Spend 6.4 Hours a Week 'Botsitting' AI’ that you kindly selected for me on 18 June 2026.
The article reminded me of the situation regarding self-checkout machines in Japan. These machines have been introduced to reduce labor costs and staff.
Consequently, only a few employees are available to troubleshoot the machines, so they sometimes malfunction. To make matters worse, it has been reported that financial losses caused by shoplifting have increased even with these machines in place.
When it comes to AI services, getting used to them requires a lot of time. Therefore, I can understand spending 6.4 hours a week 'botsitting' AI, which means users have to spend a lot of time struggling with the AI.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class. |
